The Night
Bring your sharpest friends
Thursday is the night the restaurant stops being quiet. Dinner service opens at 5pm, the woodfire oven comes up to heat, and at 7pm the first question goes up. Six rounds, ten questions each, and the sort of arguing across the table that only happens when somebody is nearly certain.
Entry is free. There is $100 for the winning team and $50 for second, so it is worth taking seriously — but not so seriously that anybody has stopped eating. The kitchen runs right through, so you can order before the first round and keep going between them.
It runs every Thursday, all year round. No season, no break, no need to check whether it is on this week.

One of two woodfire nights a week
The Pizzas
The woodfire oven only runs Thursday and Sunday nights, and Thursday is trivia. All four are built on 36-hour fermented sourdough finished with Mount Zero EVOO, Fior Di Latte and Pecorino Romano — The Emily, The Praneel, The Jovi and The Ash. There is a Kids Margherita as well.
The Mulled Mead
Made here at Aranya Acres and poured by the glass or the bottle — the standing recommendation alongside a pizza on a cold Wamboin Thursday. The full bar is open too, including the Sub Zero Native Series cocktails and an ever-changing Canberra District cellar list.
The Rest of the Menu
The full à la carte is available on trivia night, so nobody is stuck with pizza if they came for Chef Praneel’s native menu — lemon myrtle, wattleseed, finger lime and Dorrigo pepper, the same kitchen that runs the rest of the week.
Getting Here
Thirty minutes and the city is gone
Aranya Acres is at 810 Norton Road, Wamboin NSW 2620 — 30 minutes from Canberra CBD, 15 minutes from Bungendore and about 20 from Queanbeyan. Parking is free and on site, and the entrance, seating and toilets are wheelchair accessible.
We are open Thursday to Sunday, lunch 11am–3pm and dinner 5pm–9pm. Trivia sits inside Thursday dinner service, so book a table as you would any other night — you are booking dinner, and the quiz comes with it.

What time does trivia start at Aranya Acres?
Trivia runs every Thursday and the first question goes up at 7pm. Dinner service starts at 5pm, so most teams arrive early, order pizzas and settle in before the first round.
Does trivia cost anything?
No. Entry is free. You just pay for whatever you eat and drink on the night.
