Low light, long lunches and plates worth photographing — a look inside the wilderness.
Every photograph here was taken on the property at 810 Norton Road — no stock, no other venue. The menu turns over with the season, so some of these plates have come and gone; the current à la carte is the one to order from. The rooms you can see dressed for a party are the same ones we set for weddings and private functions.

The Dining Room
Long tables and low light
A light-filled room by day and a candlelit one by night, looking straight over the vines. It seats 80, which is our full seated capacity, and it is the room behind most of the plated photographs above — native Australian cooking, share plates down the middle, and a Canberra District cellar list alongside. It is also the room we set for a vineyard wedding reception.
The Bar
Inside the room, not off to one side
The bar sits within the dining room rather than in a separate space, which is deliberate — you can eat a full menu at it, or drink without feeling parked. Cocktails, beer and cider, non-alcoholic options and the full cellar list all pour from here, and the Sapling Yard cellar door is directly downstairs for wine tasting before or after.
The Vines & The Lawn
Twenty-five acres and golden hour
Open lawn between the restaurant and the vineyard, gums for shade and long views east toward Lake George. It takes arrival drinks and ceremonies in warm weather, carries up to 90 standing, and is where the sunset photographs come from. The vineyard itself is managed by Wamboin Hills Estate and is part-way through a rejuvenation project.
Getting Here
Closer than it looks
810 Norton Road, Wamboin — thirty minutes from Canberra CBD, fifteen from Bungendore and about twenty from Queanbeyan, with free on-site parking. If you are after a vineyard restaurant near Canberra that photographs as well as it eats, this is the drive. Hours and directions, or enquire about a function.

Where were these photographs taken?
All of them on the property at 810 Norton Road, Wamboin — the dining room, the bar, the lawn and the vineyard. Nothing here is stock photography or another venue.
Are the dishes in these photos on the current menu?
Some are, some have moved on. Chef de Cuisine Praneel Singh rewrites the menu with the season, so the gallery is a record of the kitchen rather than a menu. The current a la carte, cellar list and set menus are all on the menu page.
Can we take photographs at Aranya Acres?
Of course — guests are welcome to photograph their own table and the grounds. For a commercial shoot, an engagement session or a professional photographer working a wedding or function, email us first so we can work it around service.
Can we look around before booking a wedding or function?
Yes. Book a table from the a la carte menu any Thursday to Sunday and walk the grounds while you are here, or email events@aranyaacres.com.au and we will show you the rooms dressed.
